These are my inspirations for my project

 Most have a sentimental value.
The chicken is the closest thing I have to a spirit animal, plus I think they are very artistic in shape. plus the way they walk is completely hilarious...

My Life in Objects: a Piece for 3-D Materials and Concepts

1. The Body is the primary mode of perceiving:
     Touch-
to come in contact with you hands, fingers etc.
                 Hear-
perceive with the ear the sound made.
                   Smell-
perceive or detect the odor or scent
                  Taste-
perceive or experience the flavor of
             Sight-
                manage to see or observe.
2. Capacity of Objects to Serve as Traces of authetic experience:

3. The souvenir reduces the public, the monument and the three demensional into the minature, which can be eveloped by the body:

4. Nostalgia cannot be sustained without loss:
           Stuffed backscratcher cat
a thought for a lovely gift
                                                left ungiven that day
5. To have a souvenir of the Exotic is to posses both a specimen and a trophy:
image
This is an object of memory for my father . He bought it in a market place somewhere in the mountains of Ecuador, where my mother and he spent a pre-wedding vacation. It’s trophy for him, because it had been the first time he had been to South America, where the place his bride-to-be grew up till the age of 7, and also where I, his firstborn, was conceived.
7. Place of Origin must remain unavailable in order for desire to be generated:
image
This is Ecuador. My Ecuador. A thousand miles away, and it feels like my heart has stretched thus far. Though it is not my birth-right, nor my true place of origin, it’ll forever be mine. Just a piece of my soul that I don’t believe I’ll ever have again…

The Story of the Little Soap Fox

Once there was a little fox that smelled of Lavender soap…

That got lost on the the wrongside of the living room forrest, and was killed by a tribe of beanie baby men with their pin arrows…

They cut him up with their homemade exacto knives…

dressed him in a white craft paint sauce and hot glue dressing…

they placed him in tin foil and boiled him for the entire duration of toy story 3…

when the fox had cooled off, they took out the pins…

They cut him in half…

and stuck  what remained of his head through with a pin into what remained of his body…

finally finished, they gave him as sacrifice to their living room fox godess…

who stuck it in the freezer for a bubble bath later…

It's about Time: a Personal response to

A Personal response to  the work of Janine Antoni  Lick and Lather

When I saw
My Soap Fox Baby Janine Antoni  works for her pieces Lick and Lather. It was rather cool. In her works, she puts in the point of how things change over time, using materials that could be diminished from everyday use like chocolate and soap. From this I can draw a comparison with my piece as well as her, because of the concept of time and how it changes things. Plus eating your face made entirely out of chocolate is every person's dream

My body project

My Response to the Episode 468 Switcharoo from This American Life, I have to say that I got great pleasure in listening to it. Personally I greatly enjoy listening to NPR particularly their stories. It answered a personal question that I've oftened pondered when alone, of what would happen if I just randomly took another's place. Though it did not end well for the character, it was an experience living through him vicariously.

and Now my body project

This is my piece. The model that I have within is my little sister, roped in unwillingly. I decided to use the shape of the chicken as inspiration (beak, feathers, breast) and took it from there. I chose the chicken, because I feel that it is my second spirit animal and that the shape and recongizable color would be most beneficial for the project. I uitlized my sister's petiteness, to cover her entire body. in this entire piece there is a lot of spray fixative, red pastel, tracing paper, wire, and a crap ton of hairspray.

Suspended Short Story

My piece is on the short story of the ones who walk away from the omelas.
I used a lot of appetizing color that is described in the story, but I put on the inside. I wanted the outside to be glistening with disgust, while the inside tries to entice it’s admirers. It’s on of the reasons I incorporated the light inside, to catch the eye. I wanted to put it into the perspective of the citizens of the omelas, and give the choice whether the viewer wants to see the good side or the bad side.I tried also to make it appear fragile, something so big being held by something so tiny, representing the boy

My Favorite Things

These are 7 objects that I hold dear to my heart and that have sentimental value. The watercolors are to keep color in my life. The ceramic cupcake is to remind me of friends as well as to keep me from eating it. The bottle of yellow is for happiness. The teaballs are to keep me awake where coffee fails. The cluster of stones is to heal my soul. The lentils is to remind me where I come from. And the present is to remind me of the here and now.
